As we wait for the official digital nomad visa, we want to share how you can access the country in the meantime. Tourists can remain in the country for up to 90 days without a visa if they can provide valid proof of travel/medical insurance, passport and onward/return ticket.
Argentina does not require foreign nationals to obtain a COVID-19 test, get vaccinated or go into quarantine upon arrival. Authorities recommend taking a PCR test 24 hours after arrival if you aren’t fully vaccinated.
Can the Argentina tourist visa be extended?
If you want to stay in Argentina for longer than 90 days, the only way is to apply for a visa extension. This is possible up to two times, with an extended period of 180 days in total.
You must have your passport and a valid reason for wanting to stay longer, such as medical care or business purposes. You’ll also need to provide sufficient financial evidence that you can cover all of your living expenses during your stay. It is also an option to make a visa run for Colonia, a city in Uruguay close to Buenos Aires.
